Roof construction

Cross-sections of the main structural elements of the roof depend on their spacing, span, assumed loads and on the assumed thermal insulation – often low sections of STEICO elements meet static requirements, however, when planning a thicker layer of thermal insulation mats, the cross-section of beams may be deliberately overstated. I-beams combined with glued veneer laminated timber enable the construction of a variety of roof constructions, similar to constructions made of well-known solid wood, e.g. roof rafters, rafter-collared roofs, purlin-and-pin roofs, trusses etc. Same type of roof construction it results only from the design of the building and is not determined in any way by the use of load-bearing elements made of highly processed wood.
